Do you doubt the value of your dream?
What comes to mind when you think of Mr. Rogers? Do you think of a pure-hearted, kind man who was super passionate about children and their wellbeing? I do!
Of course, this was completely confirmed in “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”, the documentary that pulls the curtain back on Fred Rogers’ personal life.
Yet ALSO revealed, was that there were times when Mr. Rogers was unsure of whether or not he was making a difference. Sometimes, he wondered if people understood his message. And at times, he felt discouraged about continuing on with his mission.
“WHAT?!” (I thought as I watched the movie.) “How could it be that Mr. Rogers, someone so passionate and well-known for something so special, ever wavered?”
But then I remembered that he was human. Just like the rest of us.
I’m sharing this to let you know that you’re not alone. If there’s something you strongly believe in…if there’s something you dream about doing, but aren’t sure of how it’ll be received…IT DOESN’T MEAN THAT IT’S WRONG. It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t do it, and honestly, it also doesn’t mean that everyone else will get it.
If you’ve been dragging your feet about getting started, this is your sign to give it a go! The people who are meant to receive your gift (the RIGHT people) will be so grateful to you for sharing it with them. And won’t that make up for the naysayers? I’m just saying...😉
What have you been wanting to do, but don’t know how to start? I’d LOVE to know!
