All we do is think about the feelings we hide
All we do is think about the feelings we hide, and then make choices and take actions based on this.
Thoughts lead to feelings which lead to actions. So how much more productive and lighter would we be, if we really understood what we were feeling? And as a result, how would our actions change?
Here’s an example from my own life 😉
As an HSP (highly sensitive person) and an INFJ, I can get overstimulated in noisy, crowded places. When this happens, I tend to get a bit cranky and irritable. These are obviously not my finest moments.
But not that long ago, I realized that it’s not anger and annoyance that I’m feeling in these situations; it’s complete exhaustion.
What a revelation!
When I feel this way, doing the most mundane task becomes SO challenging and draining. Trying to keep calm and push forward as I’m running on empty almost makes me want to cry.
Now when I feel this familiar frustration creep in, I take a time out. I’ll go somewhere quiet (if I can) or even cancel plans, if need be.
In doing this, I’m recharging my battery, coming back into balance, and taking the BEST care of myself. I’m also taking better care of my relationships, as well.
I believe that leading our best lives comes from a deep self-awareness. How in-touch do you think you are with what you’re feeling? How could your life change if you were even more so?
